Did a site ask you to verify with VerifyBlind?
Some sites and apps want to confirm you are a real person, to prevent fake and duplicate accounts or to apply an age limit. VerifyBlind lets you do this without showing your identity: the site only gets the answer to the question it asked.
What does the site see, and what not?
What the site sees
- That the verification succeeded
- If it asked, the answer to an age condition; for example "over 18: yes"
- If it asked, a code unique to you and to that site only. It helps the site notice when the same person opens a second account; it does not match the codes other sites receive.
What the site does not see
- Your name
- Your national ID number
- Your date of birth and your actual age
- Your photo and your face data
What do you need, and how long does it take?
A chip-based Turkish ID card
The new-generation ID card with a chip. Passports are not supported yet.
A phone with NFC
To read the chip on your card.
First time: a few minutes
You add your card to the app once: you hold it to your phone and do a short face check.
Later verifications: a few seconds
No card needed. A short face check and your phone's lock, and you are done.

Download the VerifyBlind app.

Add your ID card to the app once.

Tap the verification button on the site. On a computer, scan the QR code on the screen with the VerifyBlind app.

The app shows which site wants to verify what. Approve it.

Go back to the site; the result is waiting for you there.
Why can you trust it?
Your identity stays on your phone
Your identity details are stored encrypted on your phone. Our servers do not keep your name, ID number or photo.
Processed in an isolated environment
During verification, your details are processed in an environment isolated from the rest of the server (AWS Nitro Enclave) and deleted when the check is done.
You stay in control
The app shows which verification you made for which site, and you can revoke a verification there at any time.
Our code is open
The code of the app on your phone and of the server that processes your identity is open. Anyone can check that the running code is the published code.

Why does it ask for my phone's lock?
To make sure the verification is done by the phone's owner. The key that carries your identity only opens with your phone's lock.
I tapped the button but the app did not open; a download page appeared.
If you just installed the app, your phone may take a little while to recognise the app's links. Wait a few minutes and try again.
I don't have a chip-based ID or a phone with NFC.
Then you cannot verify with VerifyBlind for now. You can ask the site that requested it whether there is another way.
Can I verify with a foreign passport?
Only the chip-based Turkish ID card is supported for now.
